Renta and Febiac put the conclusions of the PROMOCO study into perspective
On 12 May, the results of the PROMOCO study (Professional Mobility and Company Car Ownership), conducted jointly by the universities of Brussels, Namur and Hasselt, were published. A survey conducted among 181 companies and 1.500 employees, was intended to show the impact of company cars on the mobility.
The PROMOCO study reveals, among others, that the first of the Top 3 reasons making companies decide to provide company vehicles to their employees, is the desire to motivate them, followed by the need for a vehicle as part of their professional activity and finally the financial aspect.
The study also shows that, in most cases, the allocation of a company vehicle is the answer to a real need. The employee who receives it should, on average, take more professional displacements.
We also learn that, in case their company car was taken away, 25% of respondents would turn to public transport while 7 out of 10 people would use a private vehicle.
Renta, the Belgian Federation of Car Rental Companies and FEBIAC, the Belgian Federation of the Car and Two-wheeler Industries, were eager to nuance the findings of this study in a press release.
