Sustainable development
Corporate Social Responsibility and certainly more environmentally-friendly business are increasingly becoming aspects of business which simply cannot be ignored. And so, sustainable leasing is much more than merely a vogue word, but is a concept which can/must be part of your CSR business philosophy. At Arval, as within the BNP Paribas group, there is a strong awareness of the need for sustainable development and a desire to achieve it. We also exercise these principles every day in our behaviour, strategy, and all our activities.
Environmental responsability
Since 2010, Arval resides in a low-energy building which is notably equipped with solar panels on the roof as well as multiple other technologies aimed at reducing energy consumption. These installations and the technical and material means used for its construction, have earned the building BREEAM certification. Through various carbon reduction projects we continuously aim to reduce our carbon footprint.
We continually aim to reduce the CO2 emissions of our customer fleet by advising our clients, training and creating awareness with our drivers and offering multiple mobility solutions. Arval is also a member of the Sustainable Repair Foundation, whose mission statement is to identify environmentally friendly automotive companies based on objective criteria.
At Arval, we take pride in our environmental commitment and are proud holders of the ISO 14001 certification.
Environmental policy
Arval has always been striving to combine quality of services with social responsibility. We aim to reduce our impact on the environment, make use of sustainable energy resources and advise and create awareness at our clients and suppliers to reduce the carbon footprint of our fleet. Sustainability is an integral part of the DNA of our corporate policy and is reflected in day-to-day operations.
Arval Belgium is committed to:
Comply with the environmental legislation and other environmental commitments taken by BNP Paribas Group:
ISO 14001:2015
ISO 14001:2015 specifies the requirements for an environmental management system that an organization can use to enhance its environmental performance. ISO 14001:2015 is intended for use by an organization seeking to manage its environmental responsibilities in a systematic manner that contributes to the environmental pillar of sustainability.
Duurzaam repareren / Réparer durablement
Duurzaam repareren vzw's mission is to measure whether or not an automotive business can be considered as 'environment friendly' and if they actively contribute to environmental maintenance and repairing of motorized vehicles, in the broadest sense.
"Corporate Social Responsability (CSR) and especially doing business environmentally-friendly is becoming a crucial part of a company. Sustainable leasing is not just a trend, but has to be part of the core values of the CSR policy. Sustainable development has a strong presence within Arval and is an active goal we try to achieve. We therefore carry out these principles in our behavior, our strategy and all our initiatives on a daily basis. That is why we have also decided to join the Sustainable Repair initiative (Duurzaam Repareren / Réparer Durablement)."

Sustainability Report 2023
In this year’s report there are some new elements to highlight, which have been incorporated notably the double foreword by Alain van Groenendael and Karen Brunot, the publication of the objective to reach 350,000 BEVs in Arval's leased fleet by 2025, and a page dedicated to energy transition. We have also ensured that initiatives of all countries are represented in the report.

Arval Mobility Observatory
One of the major pillars of Arval’s service is giving advice. Here, too, we apply our sustainable philosophy. We regard it as our job not only to advise you at an economic level, but also at an ecological and social level. The Arval Mobility Observatory, one of Arval’s research initiatives, also contributes in this respect. For Arval, Socially Responsible Leasing is a long-term engagement in which we aim to succeed and to share our success with you.
