WELCOME TO THE ERA OF THE CONNECTED VEHICLE!

Arval may collect and use personal data if your vehicle is equipped with a telematics box (hereinafter referred to as a “Connected Vehicle”).

This may be an invisible box installed by the vehicle manufacturer or a box installed by Arval. Both types offer numerous benefits. For example, the smart technology makes it easier to monitor and maintain vehicles, and to locate your vehicle in the event if it is stolen.

At Arval, we place great importance on customer satisfaction. For this reason, we would like to let you know exactly how the data collected by our telematics solution is used.

MANUFACTURER'S BOX

Increasing numbers of vehicles supplied by vehicle manufacturers are fitted with a telematics box. These are designed to collect technical data from the vehicle (e.g. mileage, next service due date, dashboard warnings). Please familiarise yourself with the information provided by the manufacturer in your vehicle's log book about how this data is used or contact your dealer.

As the owner of the vehicle, Arval may make use of the technical data shared by vehicle manufacturers.

ARVAL BOX

If the "Welcome to your connected vehicle" sticker above is affixed to your windscreen, your vehicle is fitted with a telematics box installed by Arval.

For both types of box (manufacturer's box/Arval box), Arval processes the data collected, especially for statistical purposes and in order to improve vehicle management. The information gathered enables us to better understand how vehicles are used and to offer new and more effective services.

PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

The boxes collect the data confidentially.

To ensure the protection of your personal data, Arval undertakes to comply with the applicable regulations on the protection of personal data, and in particular Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (the “GDPR”) and Law of 30 January 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regards to the processing of personal data.

In all cases (manufacturer's box and/or Arval box), Arval collects the data on its own behalf and in this capacity acts as data controller.

Finally, our Connected Vehicle solution is ISO-27001 certified.
