You are about to accept our automatic solvability study procedure, in accordance with the risk procedure of the BNP Paribas Group, of which Arval Belgium S.A. is a subsidiary, without any human intervention.
This procedure enables Arval Belgium S.A. to determine whether your request to enter into a leasing contract could potentially be accepted.
A company in the BNP PARIBAS group will assess your solvability automatically, on the basis of the financial information you have previously provided, in order to issue a result.
You will find in this appendix an explanation of the processing operations that involve an automated decision concerning you. These processing operations are as follows:
Automatic decision to enter into a leasing contract:
We reserve the right to complete the list if, in the future, additional processing is required concerning the automated decision.
In order to make this automated decision, the BNP PARIBAS group company relies on:
- the data you enter when applying for a leasing contract (e.g. declared income and expenses, amount of the lease).
- publicly available information.
The system automatically determines whether your request to enter into a leasing contract corresponds to your needs and whether you have the repayment capacity to honour your obligations.
The assessment models on which the decision is based are based on the combination of your solvability and your ability to reimburse, as well as on your risk profile as determined by us (in particular, on the basis of statistical analysis tools that take into account past payment defaults, for example). The models are adapted to the profile of the prospect/customer and are regularly monitored.
The automated decision system will generate one of the following three responses:
- Either your request is processed automatically and immediately and has been authorised automatically: this is a positive result. Your request to conclude the leasing contract will not be definitively authorised until the KYC (Know Your Customer) analysis has been carried out in accordance with the BNP Paribas Group KYC procedure. For this reason, the leasing contract is concluded under the suspensive condition that the result of the KYC analysis does not raise any objections to the commencement of a customer relationship with you. We will inform you by e-mail of the result of our checks within a reasonable period of time (estimated at 10 working days).
- Or your request cannot be processed automatically, for example if the information provided with your request is insufficient to process it automatically. Your request will then be analysed manually by one of the employees of the BNP Paribas Group company.
- Or your application is automatically refused, for example if your income is too low in relation to the application: this is a definitive negative result. In this case, you have the opportunity to express your point of view and contest the refusal of your application to enter into a leasing contract in order to obtain an explanation of the result. In particular, you can contact our services at the e-mail address retail@arval.be or by telephone on 02 240 01 99, in order to request a human intervention to re-examine the refusal of your application, in application of Article 22 paragraph 3 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If your application is refused again after this manual examination of your solvability, you will not be able to conclude the leasing contract with Arval Belgium S.A.
