Fines - Frequently Asked Questions

  1. I committed an offence with my leasing vehicle. What now?

    You will receive a fine for this offence. This may happen through one of the following channels:

    • Via your My Arval or My Leez account (you will receive an email notification);
    • Via your E-Box account;
    • Via post.

    The channel through which you receive the fine depends on the type of fine (parking retribution, Municipal Administrative Sanctions (MAS) or criminal traffic fine) and the issuing authority.

    Important: Regardless of the channel through which you receive the fine, you must pay it to the issuing authority, following the instructions provided on the fine.

  1. I received a fine via Arval. What now?

    You must pay the fine directly to the authority that issued it. Please follow the instructions on the fine. It is not possible to pay the fine to Arval.

    Important: Please respect the payment deadline mentioned on the fine to avoid additional costs.

  1. I cannot open my fine via My Arval or My Leez. What now?

    Don't worry, we are happy to help you gain access. The steps differ depending on your contract:

    • For a direct contract with Arval: Go to www.myarval.com or use the My Arval Mobile app (available in the App Store and Google Play). Select "reset password", enter your email address, and click "request". You can then complete the access request to your account via the email you receive.
    • For a contract via one of our brand partners: Download the My Leez app from the App Store or Google Play. Select "reset password", enter your email address, and click "request". You can then complete the access request to your account via the email you receive.

    Still unable to find the fine? Please contact us on 02 240 01 99 or reach out to your dedicated contact person. We will be happy to look into this with you.

  1. I do not agree with the fine. What now?

    The fine was issued for your license plate, but you do not agree with the fine?

    You always have the right to contest a fine with the competent authority in accordance with the applicable procedures. Instructions for doing so can be found on the fine itself.

    If your contestation is deemed admissible and Arval has already paid a reminder and invoiced it to your employer, Arval will credit the invoiced amount once you have provided the required supporting documents.

    The fine was issued for a license plate that is not yours? Or does the offense fall outside the period of your lease contract?

    Please contact us on 02 240 01 99 or reach out to your dedicated contact person. We will be happy to investigate this further with you.

  1. The payment deadline for my fine has expired. What now?

    Please do not pay the fine after the final payment date mentioned on the notice. This prevents double payment by both you and Arval. If the fine was not paid on time, Arval will receive a reminder from the authority. Arval will then pay this and invoice it to your employer via the monthly billing (as from January 1, 2027: an administrative fee of EUR 15 (excl. VAT) will be added to the fine amount).

  1. I received a 1st reminder via Arval regarding my fine. What now?

    You do not need to do anything. This reminder has already been paid for by Arval and will be charged to your employer via the monthly billing.

    This information is also included in the letter attached to the reminder; the reminder itself bears the heading “Fine already paid”.

  1. Arval is charging my employer for a fine that I have already paid. What now?

    This is the result of a late payment. There are two possible scenarios:

    • The authority refunds the paid amount to Arval: Arval will credit the amount invoiced to your employer, excluding the administrative fee.

    • The authority refunds the amount to you: Arval will not issue a credit.

  2. Arval is charging my employer for a fine that I never received. What now?

    Which checks can you perform yourself:

    • Always check your mailbox, spam folder, and the My Arval or My Leez app first.
    • It is possible that the original fine was placed under your windshield wiper. Contact the issuing authority to verify this.
    • Check with your employer whether your details (name, address, date of birth, and email address) were correctly communicated to Arval. Still haven't found anything? Please contact us on 02 240 01 99 or reach out to your dedicated contact person. We will be happy to investigate this further with you.
